How and why is this site born? To tell you the truth, there is no clear and definite answer... It is partly born out of my wish to create in HTML, partly from the echo of other similar sites (even if "richer" and more careful), and partly born out of the good result obtained by the first meeting. And how is the idea of the meetings born? Well, it did in an almost casual way. In this last period the Atlas Racing shop had become somewhat a kind of meeting point for more or less fans-of-tuning people. Towards the end of 1998, the mania for car tuning literally exploded and, actually, the most requested items became springs, sporting-trim kits, special hexausts systems, and other items aimed to the personalization and improvement (both in performance and in good look) of one's four-wheeled beloved (means of transport) the more or the less, each with its own means started putting some imagination and touching up its FIAT Uno, Pug 106, Pug 205, Alfa Romeo 145, VW Golf, Citroen Saxo... Even a FIAT Fiorino!! Within a short time the business has cought on (caught the public fancy), people and its interest have increased so much that shop owners decided on setting up a real car meeting.
This happened in October 1999: the first meeting had to be a very simple event for not a great crowd of people, on the contrary it reveal itself as a some larger and succesful event. So succesful that it had been decidedto repeat the performance the year after (maybe with a "bis"), so that we could believe this is going to be a settled happening in the years to come!
In spite of the enormous restrictions imposed by the italian road traffic authority and the police, these people's passion (and/or perversion!) has lead to great results. Basically, this internet site is dedicated to all who devote their forces (and most of their money!) to turn their cars into something more strictly personal and fit for their own taste and requirements. It is somehow the same for a piece of cloth: you buy it as it is (and it seldom suits you at once) and you adapt it to your person and personality! You can try to increase the performance at an costs or to improve the only look, you can exaggerate or you can get restricted to small details. I know pretty good the process that leads you to all this... However, on my small scale, I'm keen on working up my own car to make it unique! What's strange in it?
